Mothers, Fathers and Florals – Exclusive Simon Says Stamp Release

Mothers Fathers, and Florals
Hi Everyone! Simon Says Stamp has a new release called, Mothers, Fathers and Florals. I created a beautiful card and envelope with the new Sending Flowers stamp set. This set isn’t just for envelopes, you can create some beautiful cards with it too. And speaking of envelopes, we all love getting handmade cards but when the envelope is just as pretty, well then even the mail carrier can get in on the fun. I’m sure they get bored looking at plain, dull mail day after day, so you’d be bringing a smile to everyone who touches your piece of mail as it travels. Now how’s that for spreading joy!
I put together a small tutorial on how I created this card. Very easy to make even though it looks like you spent hours. Enjoy!
I cut a 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ piece of Neenah Solar White 110 card stock and used lightly sticky tape to create a mask in the center of the card.
I stamp on the outer layer of the single flower that comes in the Sending Flowers stamp set with Wilted Violet and Broken China Distress Ink and pull the color to the center of the flower using a waterbrush.
Here you can see all the flowers after they’ve been stamped and colored.
I add the flower center stamp to each of the flowers using Black Soot Archival Ink.
I decide to add some dots to the flower centers with a black gel pen.
I gently peel away the masking tape and stamp Happy Birthday in the middle using the Simon Says Stamp Handwritten Sentiments.
To give the card a finished look, I add a thin black border with the black gel pen and the Tim Holtz Design Ruler.

To finish the card, I mount the card panel onto a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ card panel created from Bazzill Grape Delight card stock.

For the envelope, I stamped the flowers with Simon Says Stamp Wisteria and Audrey Blue Hybrid Ink so it would hold up through any moisture it comes in contact with while traveling through the mail.
