Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge – You’ve Got The Edge

Hi Everyone! I’m so happy you stopped by. This week on Simon Says Stamp’s Monday Challenge the theme is, You’ve Got The Edge. For this challenge we’re asking you to focus on the edges of your project. Add some borders with anything you want and just have fun! I created a fun card with some border stamping and sewing. I hope you enjoy seeing how I put it all together. Enjoy!
Also, don’t forget to check out our guest designer this month, Buelah Bee. The recipe box she refurbished for her mom last week was gorgeous. Stop by and send her some love.
1. Cut a 4-5/8″ x 6-5/8″ piece of Bristol watercolor paper.
2. Apply several swipes of Pumice Stone Distress Ink on a craft mat and spritz with water.
3. Spritz the paper with water and run it through the ink and water mixture.
4. Dry with heat tool.
1. Apply several swipes of Hickory Smoke Distress Ink on a craft mat and spritz with water.
2. Lightly spritz paper with water and run it through the ink and water mixture.
3. Dry with heat tool.
Stamp the Wendy Vecchi Circle Collage stamp in the center of the background with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink.
Stamp top left and bottom right corners with the edging stamp from PaperArtsy’s Jofy 32 stamp set.
Using a small, fine tipped paintbrush paint the circles in the edge pattern and in the center of the circle collage with PaperArtsy Snowflake Fresco Finish paint.
Ink the edges of the panel with Black Soot Distress Ink using a mini ink blending tool.
Run the Black Soot Distress Paint with a dauber top on all the edges of the panel to create a deep black edge.
1. Add some sewing to the top right and bottom left of the panel.
2. Adhere panel to a 4-7/8″ x 6-7/8 piece of coordinating card stock.

3. Adhere that panel to a 5″ x 7″ piece of black card stock.

Add more circles to the background with the top of a Distress paint container and any household item you may have on hand. I used the top of an old salt shaker.
Stamp the Simon Says Stamp Bouquet of Thanks stamp onto a piece of Bristol watercolor paper with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and color with your choice of medium.
Cut out the bouquet with its coordinating die.
To finish the card, I used a white gel pen to white out around the fine details in the inner portions of the collage circle. I adhered the bouquet with 3d foam tape to add dimension. I added one of the sentiments from the Simon Says Stamp Bouquet of Thanks stamp set by stamping the sentiment onto Simon Says Stamp black card stock with Versamark ink. I then sprinkled on Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and set it with a heat tool. I cut around the perimeter of the sentiment and adhered it to the bottom portion of the bouquet. I added a tiny bow made out of May Arts Ivory burlap twine and the card is done.
I hope you enjoyed seeing the process I used to create my card for the You’ve Got The Edge challenge and that you join us for this fun challenge by adding your project to Simon Says Stamp’s Monday Challenge Blog for your chance to win a $50 gift voucher to their amazing store.
