Hi Everyone! I’m thrilled to be designing with Tammy Tutterow’s new stamps from Spellbinders. They are so cheery and fun and the designs can’t help but make you smile. Today, I used the Happy Birthday To You stamp set  to create this fun card. The size of the stamp is perfect for an A2 or an A7 size card. I chose to create an A7 size card so I could do some stenciling around the image using one of Tammy’s new stencils from Stencil Girl. Yep, Tammy has her own line of stencils and each and every design is amazing. I hope you enjoy the card I made using this amazing stamp set and stencil combination. I made two of the same cards using the same design but with different color combinations. Below is a short tutorial on how I created them.
I begin by stamping the Happy Birthday To You Stamp onto a 4-3/4″ x 6-3/4″ piece of Bristol watercolor paper with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and color the image with Distress Markers. I then set it aside to completely dry.
While my image is drying, I prepare a mask by stamping the image onto masking paper.
I cut the image around the design to fit over the image I stamped onto the main card panel.
Here you can see the masked image that will fit over the image stamped directly onto the card panel.
I peel the backing off the masking paper and place it right on top of the image stamped onto the card panel.
Now that the image is protected with the mask I created, I stencil the Basics Polka Party stencil from Tammy Tutterow over the card panel and begin adding polka dots with Distress Inks. I start with the larger polka dots first.
Here, you can see the large stenciled polka dots.
I flip the stencil around to the smaller sized polka dots and stencil them onto the card panel.
Here you can see both sizes of polka dots that when applied together have the look of confetti.
I remove the mask and shade around the sentiment to bring out the letters.
To complete both of my cards, I add some enamel dots in coordinating colors and clear wink of stella over the icing on the cake and the heart. I adhere the main panel onto coordinating card stock to frame the image and my cards are done.
