Bright & Cheerful – Best Day Ever

Hello Friends! I’m so happy you stopped by to see my latest creation for Tammy Tutterow Designs. It’s a cheerful and pretty card filled with flowers colored with Copic markers. I created the floral edge along the bottom with Tammy’s Flower Swag 3 stamp and I have to say it worked perfectly. So many times I just want a card to cheer someone up. The Best Day Ever stamp is perfect for this type of card and I made sure to use bright and cheerful colors. I hope you like it.

I begin by stamping on the Best Day Ever stamp onto a 4-3/4″ x 6-3/4″ Neenah Solar White 110 lb. cardstock panel with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. I color the image with Copic markers. To apply the Polka Party Stencil around the sentiment, I create a mask with a piece of masking paper to cover the sentiment. I place the stamp on the masking paper and trace trace around the edges of the stamp with a pencil. I then cut out the traced shape. I place the mask over the sentiment and apply Tammy’s Polka Party stencil over the panel with Wendy Vecchi white embossing paste. When the paste is completely dry, I ink the panel around the sentiment with Broken China Distress Ink.

I add a pretty floral border along the bottom of the card by cutting a 1-1/2″ x 6-3/4″ strip of Neenah Solar White 110 lb. cardstock and stamp the Flower Swag 3 image along the bottom stamping from right to left. Make sure to mask off any part of the stamped image when you add more flowers to the left. This will prevent stamping over the first image.

After coloring the flowers along the bottom I adhere the top panel to Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red cardstock and the adhere the flower border to a piece of Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock. I adhere both panels together and cover the edges of the panels where they meet with pretty red ribbon and a bow.

This card was very easy to create and the coloring process is what took most of my time. I think it will really cheer someone up, don’t you think?

Thanks for sticking with me to the end. Have a wonderful week!
