Hi Friends! I hope you had a nice weekend. I’ve been holding this post off for a couple of weeks because it features a traveler’s journal I created for my daughter, Emily. I wanted to give her something for her birthday that she could journal in as she has always been a traveler and weekend explorer. Her travels have taken her to Ireland, India and she even lived in Peru for 6 months. Recently, she’s been traveling closer to home staying in the States but she’s always making plans for her next adventure.
I think you’ll be surprised just how simple this journal is to create. Enjoy!
To create some dimension on the cover of the journal, cut a piece of Tim Holtz Memoranda paper and lay the clock stamp on the paper. With a pencil, trace very lightly around the outer edges of the stamp. Close the lid of the stamp platform and pick up the stamp to transfer the image onto the paper.
Using a scissor, cut along the pencil marks around the image and erase any pencils marks left behind.
Cut another piece of coordinating paper from the Memoranda paper stash and cover the edges with design tape. I used the numbers design from the Tim Holtz Aristocrat Design Tape pack.
Ink the edges of the clock piece and place in the center of the design tape edged panel using 3D foam tape. Add various pieces of Idea-ology and Ephemera with a traveler theme and that’s it.
Attach the top panel onto a handmade journal. I chose to use blank sheets of paper cut to size so my daughter could write notes, draw maps and paste photos onto the sheets. The notebook itself is made from heavy cardstock.
I hope you enjoyed seeing how I created this traveler’s journal. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have an awesome week.
