Hi friends! Today I’m sharing a card I created using handmade backgrounds from my stash. There’s nothing more fun than to get out all your inks, stamps and stencils and create a bunch of backgrounds that can be used to make a quick and easy card. I keep all my homemade background papers in a bin and pull them out when I need to put something together quick. I used several different background papers to make the robot as well as the background behind the robot and even the main card panel. I hope you enjoy seeing how I put this fun card all together. Enjoy!
To begin, go through your handmade backgrounds and find ones that would work well for your project. I used some for the robot and some for the card’s background.
Create the main background panel of your card using some of the backgrounds from your stash.
Adhere some metal gears to your panel using 3D Matte Gel.
Adhere the cute and confused robot to the top of your card panel using 3D foam tape to add more dimension.
Create the sentiment from the Tim Holtz Tiny Text stamp set stamped onto mixed media paper. Color the sentiment strips with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and edge each piece with Vintage Photo Archival Ink.
To finish the card, attach the main card panel to the card base and you’re done! See how quick and easy it is to create a card when using handmade background pieces. I love to make them in an array of different colors and styles so I always have some in a pinch.
I hope you enjoyed seeing how I put this card together and that you get out your handmade backgrounds and get crafting. Thanks so much for stopping by!
