Hi Friends, I’m so happy your stopped by! I hope you had a wonderful weekend filled with fun and that you’re ready to Get In Shape. That’s the theme this week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. For this challenge, forget the flat circles and squares and create something three dimensional. I created a large beautiful dimensional flower for my card.
Also, don’t forget to check out our amazing and talented guest designer for the month of July, Beulah Bee. Did you see her project last week? It was amazing!! Stop by and send her some love. ♥
Begin with a 4-3/4″ x 6-3/4″ piece of Bristol watercolor paper and apply Broken China and Evergreen Bough Distress Ink with a mini ink blending tool.
Stamp on the Tim Holtz Cracks background stamp to the center with Broken China Distress Oxide ink.
Spray Mermaid Lagoon Distress Spray and water onto a craft mat and mix together. Pick up the card panel and run it through the ink and water mixture.
Let the ink and water mixture completely dry before moving on to the next step.
Now that the panel is completely dry, add some Tim Holtz design tape to the center of the panel.
Next, apply some Black Soot Distress Paint and water onto a craft mat and mix with the Tim Holtz Splatter Brush. Using the brush, flick the diluted paint onto the card panel to create splatters. Dry the splatters with a heat tool. When the spatters are completely dry, run the edge of an old gift card through the paint and water mixture. Take the gift card with the painted edge and add lines in random areas on the card panel by gently touching the gift card to the paper. The background is finished and needs to completely dry.
While the card panel is drying, prepare the watercolor paper for the flower. Spray Fossilized Amber and smudge some Scattered Straw Distress Ink onto a craft mat and dilute with water. Run the piece of watercolor paper through the ink and spray solution. Dry with a heat tool.
When the paper is completely dry, squeeze some PaperArtsy Snowflake Fresco Finish paint onto a craft mat and dilute with water. Using a splatter brush, mix the paint and water and flick splatters onto the yellow paper.
I used the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Bigz die to create the rose.
To finish the card, I add some Prima Metal Mini Stars, an ornate black key, and a Tim Holtz number brad that I colored with Prima Metallique Old Silver Wax. I add a Tim Holtz Quote Chip, the rose with some May Arts natural burlap twine behind it and attach the completed panel onto a 5″ x 7″ piece of Simon Says Stamp Black card stock.
I hope you enjoyed seeing the process I used to create my card for the Get In Shape challenge and that you join us for this fun challenge by adding your project to Simon Says Stamp’s Monday Challenge Blog for your chance to win a $50 gift voucher to their amazing store.
