Hi everyone, thanks so much for stopping by! I hope your weekend was a lovely one and now you’re ready to get those art supplies out and join us for another Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Our theme this week is, Easter/Spring Inspiration. You can choose which theme you’d like to use. For the challenge, I created a journal page and used Easter as my theme. Anyone who knows me, knows I love PaperArtsy stamps so I hope you join me below as I show you how to color them using three simple techniques. Enjoy!
Also, check out our guest designer for the month of March, Bonnie from My Stuff, My Life. Stop by and send her some love, she’s awesome!
To begin, I sprinkle on A Bit Jaded Infusions pigment in the center of the right side page. I then sprinkle on Golden Sands Infusions pigment around the edges of the right side page and spray the entire page with water. I spray on the water quite liberally and then fold the left page over to the right page and run my hand all around to transfer the pigment. I dry the pages with a heat tool.
When the pages are dry, I stamp one of the stamps from the Tim Holtz Ledger Script stamp set in random areas using Fern Green Archival Ink. I set it aside to completely dry while I create the flowers.
To color the flowers, I sprinkle on some PaperArtsy Orange County Infusions pigment onto a piece of heavy cardstock and brush over the pigment with Ranger Multi Matte Medium.
Using a clean sponge brush, I do the same with PaperArtsy Sunset Beach Infusions pigment. Allow both colors to completely dry. You can speed up the process by using a heat tool.
Next, Stamp on the flowers you want to use. I chose PaperArtsy Jofy 32 and 33 and stamped them in Black Soot Archival Ink.
I cut out the flowers.
Now that the journal pages are completely dry, I stamp on the flowers directly onto the pages where I want them.
I adhere the cut out flowers to the matching stamped images with Ranger Multi Matte Medium.
Next, I stamp on some images along the bottom of the pages.
To create more flowers for the pages, I paint a piece of heavy cardstock with Yellow Submarine Fresco Finish Paint.
I add Tango Fresco Finish Paint to the areas where the center of the flower will be and allow everything to completely dry.
Now that the paint is dry, I stamp the flower.
I cut out the flower and paint the dots with white paint.
I adhere the yellow flowers to the pages with multi matte medium and color the leave at the bottom with a Faber-Castell Pitt Big Brush Pen.
I want to add some butterflies to the pages, so I create a mixture of Evergreen Bough Distress Ink and water onto a craft mat and run the cardstock through the mixture. When it’s dry, I stamp out the butterflies.
To finish the pages, I add the butterflies as well as another larger butterfly that I colored with Copic markers. I stamped on some tiny circles from the Simon Says Stamp Look For The Miracles stamp set in black ink and used a white gel pen to circle around them and make them stand out. I added my sentiment and I’m done!
I hope you enjoyed seeing how I created my journal page and that you will join us in this fun challenge. Remember you could win a $50 gift voucher to Simon’s amazing store by linking your project to the challenge.
