Hi Friends! Today I’m sharing a beautiful card I created using one of the new Brushstroke Flowers from Tim Holtz and Sizzix. These flowers are so fun to create. They take seconds to put together and turn out so beautiful. I decided to cut mine out of watercolor paper and color them with Distress Ink re-inkers and a water brush. So fun! Below is a tutorial for you to see how I put this card all together. Enjoy!
Cut flowers and leaves out of watercolor paper and color with Distress Ink re-inkers and a waterbrush.
Arrange flowers on a piece of cardstock as you would like them to appear on your card.
Carefully place a piece of Seal ‘n Press over the arranged flowers and stems and firmly press down around all the edges.
Using a T-Ruler, place the letters T, h, a, n, and k along the top edge of the ruler. Place a piece of purple tape over top of the letters to keep them in place and cut out with a die cutting machine. Place the letters y, o and u inside the word “Thank” as shown above . Use the T-ruler to make sure the letters are straight.
Place a piece of purple tape over the word “you” and cut with a die cutting machine.
Your sentiment should look like the example above.
Cut the word “you” out of black cardstock.
Spray Weathered Wood Distress Spray stain and water onto a craft mat. Run the “Thank You” card panel through the spray stain and water mixture. Dry with heat tool. Stamp the wildflower corner stamp image from the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Urban Tapestry (CMS061) stamp set with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.
Retrieve the Brushstroke Flowers on the Press ‘n Seal and apply glue to the backside of the flowers and leaves. Turn over and place the flower arrangement on the front card panel where you want it to go. Press firmly, making sure the flowers and leaves adhered to the panel. Slowly peel back the Press ‘n Seal from the flowers and leaves.
Adhere the letters y, o and u that were cut out of black cardstock in their coordinating cutouts on the card front panel.
Ink the edges of the main card panel with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink. Adhere the main card panel onto a piece of grey colored cardstock and then onto a piece of black cardstock and you’re done!
I hope you enjoyed seeing how I put this card together. These flowers are so fun to create with and there is no end to the possibilities on how they can be used. Thanks so much for sticking with me to the end and I hope you have an amazing weekend.
