WHITE CHRISTMAS – QUICK AND EASY CARD

Hey Everyone! I hope you had an awesome weekend and that you’re ready for a new challenge on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. This week our challenge is, Monochrome. I created a beautiful card called, White Christmas. The white poinsettias and sparkly snowflakes are so pretty, yet so easy to create. This beautiful card is quick and easy and even though it looks like it’s time consuming, it’s not. I put together a short tutorial showing the main elements of the card. I hope you enjoy it!

Don’t forget to check out our guest designer, Wanda Hentges, from Art By Wanda. Last week, Wendy created an adorable Christmas ornament. Stop by her blog and say hello and check out her project for this week’s challenge! I know you won’t be disappointed.

Handmade White Christmas Card

Creating Card Step 1 Process

Begin by embossing the background of a 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb. cardstock with the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil and white embossing paste. Set aside to completely dry.

Creating Handmade Poinsettias Step 1

Die cut and emboss two Tim Holtz Layered Tattered Poinsettias, one large and one medium. (This die cut set comes with the die and embossing folder.)

Creating Handmade Poinsettias Step 2

Color stamens for the poinsettias by creating a mixture of water and Peeled Paint Distress Ink onto a craft sheet. Run the stamens through the ink mixture until you’re happy with the color.

Creating Handmade Poinsettias Step 3

Ink the leaves with Peeled Paint Distress Ink. Punch holes in center of petals and leaves with hole puncher and run the stamens through the holes. Offset the leaves from smallest to larges and adhere each layer together with hot glue or glue of your choice.

Creating Handmade Card Background Piece

Die cut the Tim Holtz Tree Line die and ink with Peeled Paint Distress Ink.

Creating Sparkly Snowflakes for Handmade Card

Die cut Tim Holtz Mini Paper Snowflakes and brush with Ranger Multi Matte Medium. Quickly place wet snowflakes in Distress Clear Rock Candy and set aside to dry. When snowflakes are completely dry adhere them to your card or create dimension snowflakes, as I did on my card, by adhering small snowflakes on top of larger ones.

Handmade White Christmas Card

To complete the card, place all the elements together on falling snow background panel and adhere that to a piece of 5″ x 7″ piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb. cardstock. I added the Merry Christmas word dies from Simon Says Stamp and this completes the card.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the process I used to create the elements I used to put together my White Christmas card and that you join us for this fun challenge. Remember, you could win a $50 gift voucher to Simon Says Stamp too!
