Hi Everyone! As promised last week, I’m here with another card I created using the Sweet Tweets dies from Tammy Tutterow Designs. This is such a fun die set. I used some of the other elements of the die set such as the birdhouse on this card as well as a completely different style and color scheme. I’m really happy with the way it turned out and I hope you enjoy seeing how I put it all together. Enjoy!
I begin by creating a blue sky background using the smooshing technique with Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon, Broken China Distress Inks and water onto Bristol watercolor paper.
All the pieces are cut from Neenah Solar White 110lb. cardstock and colored with Distress Inks. The heart, flower centers and 5 petaled flower is cut from Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red cardstock. The birdhouse has been embossed with the Tammy Tutterow Designs Blistered embossing folder and colored with Scattered Straw Distress Ink. The edges of the birdhouse are inked with Ground Espresso Distress Ink. The heart edges are inked with Black Soot Distress Ink. The roof and birdhouse hole are colored with Black Soot Distress Ink. The white flowers are shaped with the Elizabeth Craft Designs Flower Shaper for dimension. The leaves are from the Sew Sweet Valentine die set, cut out of white cardstock and colored with Peeled Paint and Shabby Shutters Distress Inks. The body, wing and tail of the bird are also cut from the same white cardstock and colored with Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany and Black Soot Distress Ink and the beak and feet are colored with Black Soot Distress Ink.
The card base is made from Neenah Solar White cardstock and embossed with the Tammy Tutterow Designs Horsehair embossing Folder.
The sentiment is from the Tammy Tutterow Designs Sentiments 2 stamp and die set. I colored the sentiment with Copic markers C1 and C5 and the heart is colored with Copic markers R37 and R39. The stamp comes with a matching die which I used to cut out the sentiment.
The red trim is from the Tammy Tutterow Sew Sweet Trims die set and cut from Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red cardstock. I weaved black gingham ribbon I had in my stash through the ribbon holes on the trim and finished it off with a pretty bow.
I attached the top card panel with the birdhouse and bird onto a piece of Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red cardstock for a tiny red border and attached that to a 5″ x 7″ piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb. cardstock that has been embossed with the Tammy Tutterow Designs Horsehair embossing folder. I added the trim with ribbon and the sentiment and the card is done.
I hope you enjoyed my second card using the adorable Sweet Tweets die set. Stay tuned for another creation using fabric with this same die set. Thanks so much for stopping by!
I adore this card, Cathie! Birds are special favorites of mine, and your sweet scene using Tammy’s new things is adorable!
