Hi Friends! Today I’m featuring a card I created using the Tim Holtz Cocktails Blueprint. I stamped the image onto black cardstock and colored the image with Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils. I used a couple of other stamp sets to pull everything together. Join me below to see how I created a few of the elements for the card. Enjoy!
To create the card, stamp the Tim Holtz Cocktails Blueprint Margarita image onto a piece of Simon Says Stamp Black Cardstock with VersaMark Emboss Ink. Sprinkle the wet ink with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and heat with heat tool. When image is dry, color with colored pencils. Cut the image out with one of the Tim Holtz Stacked Deckle dies and set aside.
To create the background behind the Margarita image, cut the next size larger size Tim Holtz Stacked Deckle die out of mixed media paper. Smudge Wild Honey, Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxides onto a craft mat and spritz with water. Run the mixed media paper through the oxides and dry with heat tool. Continue this process until you’re pleased with the outcome. After applying the last layer of oxides, dry with heat tool and ink the edges with Aged Mahogany Distress Oxide. Set aside to dry.
For the green distressed background, cut a 4-3/4″ x 6-3/4″ piece of Tim Holtz Green Kraft Stock and sand the surface with the Tim Holtz Sanding Block. Remove all the remaining dust from the top of the cardstock. Gently run Black Soot Distress Paint over the top of the sanded cardstock and let the paint sit on top for a few seconds. Wipe away the paint with a baby wipe. The black paint will adhere to the sanded portions of the kraft stock for a cool effect.
I added the word celebrate at the top of the card using Tim Holtz Label Letters. I stamped#happybirthday and the border from the Tim Holtz #Hashstags and Ornate Trims stamp sets. I adhered each panel one on top of the other as shown above and adhered them to a Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock card panel. A couple of Tim Holtz silver Star Fasteners and a Mini Fastener were added in the bottom corner for a festive touch.
