Hi Everyone! Thanks for popping over and checking out my latest obsession. Yes, obsession. The Tim Holtz Funny Farm stamp set is one of my all time favs. I love, love, love little critter stamps, especially if there is a hilarity about them and these barnyard animals are definitely hilarious. I mean, come on, look at them. Don’t they have the cutest faces? Today I’m going to show you three ways I used this stamp set and how easy they are to work with for many different types of designs.
For the first card, I use the masking technique to create a barnyard of farm animals. I use all the animals from the set to create the scene. To begin, you will need to create a mask for each animal which is done by stamping each one individually onto masking paper and fussy cutting them out with scissors. Next, begin stamping the animals in the forefront of the scene onto watercolor paper. I use a Post-It note to cover the sentiments under each animal before inking up the stamp. Next, remove the Post-It note and stamp the image onto the paper. As you stamp your way toward the animals in the back of the scene, make sure to mask off the ones you just stamped. Once the scene is complete, color the animals with Distress Inks and a waterbrush. The sky and grass are also colored using Distress Inks with a waterbrush. You can color the scene with Distress Markers too.
This next card is a simple one to create. All you need is a set of colored pencils and kraft paper. Colored pencils on craft paper is amazing because the colors pop and come alive so vibrantly. The sky and grass are created using a stencil and Distress Oxide inks which also look amazing on kraft paper.
For the last card, I stamp the images onto Neenah Solar White 110 lb. cardstock and color them with Copic Markers. I fussy cut out each animal so I can place them where I want in the scene. The sky and grass are created using a couple of the images from the Tim Holtz Mini Media Marks stamps set. Another thing I love about this set is that it’s so easy to use with some of your favorite sentiments from your stash. I thought these cuties would make an awesome baby card and the Simon Says Stamp Handwritten Border stamp I paired it with looks so adorable, don’t you think?
As you can see, this stamp set is so versatile and don’t you agree, their little faces are just to die for?!? They sure captured my heart!
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a beautiful day!
Cathie, all of the cards are fabulous, I just love all their adorable faces! They really did make me smile, thank you! x
