Halloween Gift Tag Candy Holder Tutorial

Hi friends! Today I’m sharing a quick and easy gift tag candy holder that you can throw together in the last minute. It’s super easy to create and will bring a smile to your little trick-or-treater. Enjoy!

This gift tag candy pocket fits the 3″ x 5-3/4″ size tag from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Stacked Tags die set. If you do not have this die set, you can create your own using these measurements.

To create the gift tag candy pocket, cut a piece of Distress Kraft Heavystock to 4″ x 4-2/3″.

On the 4-3/4″ side, score the cardstock at 5/8″, 1″, 3-3/4″ and 4-1/8″.

Turn the cardstock to the 4″ side and score at 5/8″ and 1″.

Using a bone folder, crease or fold all the scorelines.

Cut along the fold lines as shown above with a scissors and discard the cut out pieces.

Apply double-sided tape to the corners of the gift tag candy pocket as shown above.

Turn the gift tag candy pocket over to the other side and apply double-sided tape in the corners as shown above.

Turn the gift tag candy pocket over so the folds face inward and remove the double-sided tape backing.

Fold the sides that create the pocket area up and over as shown above and adhere to the sides.

Remove the remaining double-sided tape and fold over the flap to the pocket as shown above.

Adhere double-sided tape to all the sides as shown above. Peel off the backing of the tape and apply a bit of Distress Collage Medium over the tape. This will add a little more security to keep the pocket in place. Adhere the gift tag candy pocket to the back of your tag. Place a book, or any object with some weight, on top of the pocket and leave for about 5 minutes. The pressure of the weighted object will help create a strong bond for the pocket to ahere to your tag.
