Hi friends! Happy Valentine’s Day!! I hope you are having a wonderful day and spending it with those you love. Today I’m sharing a card I created using some of the new everyday line release from Tim Holtz and Sizzix. This is such a fun collection of dies and embossing folders that I’ve kept them in a stack next to my desk for now and pull something almost every day to create a little something. For today’s card I used the True Love and Bulletin Alphanumeric dies and the Dotted 3D embossing folder. Come along with me below and I’ll show you how I put it all together. Enjoy!
To begin, cut a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of Distress white heavystock and spritz it with a bit of water. Next spray a bit of Saltwater Taffy Distress Spray Stain onto a craft mat and spritz it with a bit of water. Run your finger through the mixture to break up any droplets. Dip the heavystock in the spray stain and water mixture. Before the it dries, lay a paper towel over the heavystock to pick up the excess ink and dry with a heat tool. By doing this, the background will turn out with just a hint of color which is exactly what I was going for. If you want your background darker than skip the paper towel step and just go immediately to the heat tool to dry it.
When the panel is completely dry, stamp on the dotted image from the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Grunge stamp set (CMS402) with Lumberjack Plaid Distress Ink. Spritz the image with water so the ink runs a bit distorting the image. Dry with a heat tool.
Next, stamp on a few more images from Grunge stamp set and the Mini Glitch stamp set (CMS405). Stamp these images onto the background with Aged Mahogany and Worn Lipstick Distress inks. Dry the images completely and add a few strips of washi tape to the background.
Next, I decided I wanted some texture on the right side of the card so I placed the Tim Holtz Sizzix Dotted 3D embossing folder over the right half of the card and ran it through the die cut machine. I cut a few of the hearts from the Stacked Tile Hearts die set out of red distress inked cardstock I had in my stash and placed them in random areas on the background of the card panel.
For the heart outline, I cut the large heart from the True Love die set and used the small outline piece that cuts along with the large heart. I saved the solid heart for another project.
To finish the card, I adhered the outlined heart to the left side of the card allowing it to hang a bit over the left side. I cut away the excess after gluing it to the card panel. I created the number 14 from the Bulletin Alphanumeric die set by cutting the solid numbers out of Simon Says Stamp black cardstock and the outline of the numbers from Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red cardstock.
I adhered the card panel onto a slighly larger piece of Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red and Black Cardstock as shown above.
I hope you enjoyed seeing how I put this card together and that you are enjoying the new Tim Holtz Sizzix 2023 everyday line as much as I am. Thanks so much for stopping by and sticking with me to the end. I appreciate the time you spend here with me! Have a beautiful day!
