Live In The Moment – Quick & Easy Card

Hi friends, I hope you had a wonderful weekend. This week I created a quick & easy. Sometimes, I like to create a card that doesn’t take too much time because I have a lot of other things I need to do for the day. This card is perfect for those types of days because you can whip up a pretty card and still get in your inky hands fix for the day. I’m enjoying the tattered frames I’ve created using some Tim Holtz dies and this week I decided to create another one for my card. It’s a short tutorial but I hope you enjoy it!

Handmade Card using Tim Holtz Products

Handmade Card - Step 1

Begin by cutting a 4-3/4″ x 6-3/4″ piece of mixed media paper. On the craft mat, swipe, Hickory Smoke, Black Soot and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide inks and spray them with water until beads form. Run the mixed media paper through the inks to pick up the colors. Dry completely with heat tool and repeat the process until you are happy with the results. Dry each layer completely before adding another layer. Ink the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink.

Handmade Card - Step 2

To create the tattered frame for the card, cut one of the larger size Tim Holtz Stitched Rectangles from Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock. Tatter the edges with a distressing tool. Next, place the next size smaller stitched rectangle die in the center of the tattered frame and cut out center. Stamp the solid center with the sentiment of your choice with Versamark Embossing Ink and sprinkle with white embossing powder. Heat with a heat tool to melt the embossing powder. (The sentiment I used for my card is from the Tim Holtz Nature’s Moments stamp set.)

Handmade Card - Step 3

To create the flowers, color a small bunch of Tim Holtz Bouquets with Spun Sugar Distress Spray and allow to completely dry. When the flowers are dry, spray them with Distress Resist Spray and sprinkle with Clear Rock Candy Glitter to give them some shimmer.

To complete the card, I adhered the background to a 5″ x 7″ piece of Simon Says Stamp Cotton Candy cardstock, adhered the tattered frame to the center of the card and bunched a handful of pink May Arts twine in the center. I then adhered the sentiment over the twine with 3D foam tape to give it dimension. I slipped the bouquet of flowers under the center sentiment and tied a pretty pink bow onto the base of the flowers.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I put together my card and that you have an awesome week ahead. Thanks for stopping by!
