Hi Friends! Today I’m sharing a sweet vignette box I created with a little fairy dancing through the forest granting wishes. The inspiration for this project cam from reading books to my granddaughter. I’ve been taking care of her and my grandson while my daughter-in-law finishes school for quite a while and every day she brings me a pile of books to read. I love the sweet and innocent stories as well as the far away places the authors so magically create. I hope you like it.
To begin, I spray a wooden vignette box with Shabby Shutters Distress Spray and set it aside to dry.
To create the 3D Fanciful piece, I first color a piece of white cardstock with Shabby Shutters Distress Ink. Using that colored cardstock piece, I emboss the shape by running it through my die cutting machine. Next, I rub the raised areas of the 3D piece with Prima Bronze Age metallic wax.
To create the butterflies, I first create some colorful Distress Ink blends onto mixed media paper. I then use the Scribbly Butterflies die set to cut out the outlines of the butterflies from black cardstock. I glue the Scribbly Butterflies to the inked mixed media paper and cut around the outside edges of the butterly.
To finish the box, I attach the butterflies to black wire that I curled with jewelry tools. I pierce the top of the vignette box and stick the wires through the top of the box. Next, I create some leaves out of the Tim Holtz Garden Greens die set and glue them to the inside back of the vignette box. I adhere the 3D Fanciful die to the top of the box and adhere the ballerina just slightly behind it on the bottom of the box. I create some mushrooms and flowers from the Tim Holtz Funky Foliage die set and adhere them to the bottom of the box surrounding them with moss. I add a wand in her hand and a few stars that I glittered with Distress Rock Candy Glitter. Lastly, I adhere a little “Make A Wish” Tim Holtz sticker to the side of the box and my project is done.
I hope you enjoyed this whimsical project. Thanks so much for stopping by!
