Together We Will Sit and Rest

Hi Friends! Today, I’m sharing a card I put together using one of the images from Tim Holtz’ Flower Shop stamp set. To pull it all together I used bits and pieces of Idea-ology, paper stash paper and a mat I created using the Botanical 3D embossing folder. I don’t have a tutorial today being that my time is very limited but if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out and ask. Enjoy!

Layered Tim Holtz Card

Coloring Images - Step 1

I stamp the flower onto a piece of watercolor paper and color the flower with Aged Mahogany and Victorian Velvet Distress inks. I place a drop of reinker for each of the inks onto a craft mat and pick up color with a water pen.

Coloring Images - Step 2

I color the leaves with Peeled Paint and Forest Moss Distress Inks using the same process as the flower petals. I allow the colored flower to completely dry before applying embossing glaze to areas of the flower and petals. When the image is completely dry, I use a Distress Embossing Pen and add some embossing ink to areas of the petals and leaves and sprinkle on embossing glaze to those areas. For the flower petals, I sprinkle on Tattered Rose embossing glaze and for the leaves I sprinkle on Peeled Paint embossing glaze. I use a heat tool to melt the glaze and set it aside to dry.

The mat behind the image is created using the Tim Holtz 3D Botanical embossing folder and then brushing it with  Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide to bring out the design.

To finish the card I add a few pieces of Idea-ology and adhere the card to a piece of patterned paper from Tim’s latest paper stash. I then mount the whole thing onto a piece of Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock.

Below is a list of items I used to put together this card. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have an awesome day!
