Joy – A Christmas Card in Minutes

Hi Friends! I’m so happy you stopped by and I hope you are enjoying this beautiful Christmas season. It doesn’t snow here in Arizona and having grown up in Wisconsin, I sometimes really miss it. Especially at this time of year. One of the things I miss most are the beautiful snowflakes. So for today’s card I used one of my favorite stamp sets, Mini Swirly Snowflakes by Tim Holtz. I just think these snowflakes are so pretty and I hope you enjoy seeing how easy it is to put this card together.

Joy - Easy Card With Snowflakes

Joy Snowflake Christmas Card - Step 1

To begin, I cut a 5″ x 7′” piece of Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock. I stamp some of the snowflakes onto the cardstock with Broken China Distress Oxide and some with Brilliance Platinum Planet. I stamp the snowflakes in random places to cover the card.

When the ink is dry from stamping on the snowflakes, I paint the edges with Brushed Pewter Distress Paint. I use the bottle with the dabber top. When finished, I set it aside to completely dry.

While the background is drying, I create a two layered snowflake using the Tim Holtz Fanciful Snowflakes die set. I cut the pieces out of Tim Holtz Metallic Kraft cardstock. In the center I add a piece of Idea-ology to give it a finished look.

I add the Tim Holtz Transparent Tiles in white to the card for the sentiment. So easy, right?

To finish the card, I adhere the background to a 5-1/4″ x 7-1/4″ piece of Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock and then a 5-1/2″ x 7-1/2″ piece of Tim Holtz Metallic Kraft cardstock in silver and my card is done.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I put this card together. I told you it was a quick and easy card and put together in a matter of minutes. Thanks so much for stopping by!
